The Queen Who Never Was, met her tragic end, alongside her beloved dragon Meleys, in Episode 4 of the season. Sadly, it still isn’t enough to beat the OG, as four Game of Thrones episodes still have a higher rating than The Red Dragon and the Gold.

House of the Dragon Gives Us a Thrilling Dragon Ride, Thanks to Eve Best

Game of Thrones is the OG, the one that started it all. After seven successful seasons, the show and it’s characters bid goodbye to its loyal fan base around the world, but it is still something fans speak of with excitement, even though it’s been more than 5 years since the show concluded. It’s spin-off show, House of the Dragon has become equally thrilling, with fans anticipating each new episode in the storyline.

In the ongoing second season of the show, the most recent episode was the fourth instalment – The Red Dragon and the Gold. With each episode building towards the inevitable, the last quarter of the episode saw a thrilling Dragon fight. Volunteering herself to go in stead of Rhaenyra, Princess Rhaenys takes her dragon Meleys and rides to Rook’s Rest, where she burn the white cloak troops led by Ser Criston Cole. Aegon soon approaches on Sunfyre and the ensuing battle is a sight to behold.

And while it seems like Rhaenys and Meleys might have the upper hand, Aemond comes to the view alongside Vhagar and commands his dragon to burn both Meleys and Sunfyre. Aegon and Sunfyre fall, but Rhaenys in a triumphant moment, looks to have escaped the claws of death. But the Queen Who Never Was showed her grit, and returned to fight, where she falls at the hands of Aemond and his beast. Both her and Meleys fall to their deaths, and Eve Best said her final goodbyes to a character she has held dear since Day 1, giving the performance of a lifetime in those final moments.

Eve Best’s Best in House of The Dragon Couldn’t Beat Game of Thrones

The latest in the season, The Red Dragon and The Gold has scored an IMDb rating of 9.7, the best the show has seen so far. Unfortunately, it fell short when it comes to its predecessor – Game of Thrones, which has four episodes with higher ratings so far. Each of these episodes from GoT have been praised for their performance, cinematography, story, and overall execution. And they are held in high regard among fans for a reason.

The final episode of season 6 of Game of Thrones, The Winds of Winter, has the highest rating in Game of Thrones. With a 9.9 IMDb score, S06E10 saw the Great Sept explosion, where Lena Headey gave a chilling performance as Cersei, but the most awe inducing moment was probably Bran’s vision of Jon’s true heritage.

Next comes the ninth episode, again from season six, Battle of the Bastards, which ties for the first place with yet another 9.9 rating on IMDb. The bloody battle on the fields of Winterfell as Jon and Sansa take back their home from Ramsey Bolton and his herd will always be a fan favorite.

And finally comes Hardhome, with a 9.8 IMDb rating. The eighth episode from season five gave us the first look at what the Night King can do, and also gives us a taste of what it would be like to fight wights. All the while planning and plotting continues throughout the realm.
