(CNN)– NGL, the controversial anonymous messaging app, which stands for “Not gonna lie”, has been banned from serving kids under 18 years old.

The action was taken by the Federal Trade Commission and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Officials say they took this step because of the massive cyber-bullying and treats made against children and teenagers that was found on the app.

The settlement, which was announced yesterday, calls for NGL to pay five million dollars.

Millions of people have downloaded the NGL app, according to the compliant.
