Packaging of plastic bottles with mineral water – Close up.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Hydration Station at the Sunrise Pump Station in Evansville has saved nearly 12,000 plastic water bottles from being used.

The Hydration station is an automated outdoor water dispenser that stays cold in the summer and is heated to prevent freezing in the winter.

Hydration Station was founded in 2022 by Jack Deig through the University of Evansville’s Changemaker Challenge.

Hydration Station took to Facebook to announce that following the Independence Day holiday, nearly 12,000 plastic water bottles were saved from being used. In the month of May, 3,800 bottles were saved.
