A wrong-way driver in Janesville on Thursday night faces his seventh OWI, Janesville police reported.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday, an officer located a vehicle traveling into oncoming traffic westbound on West Milwaukee Street from North Main Street, Sgt. Rogelio Carrasco said in a statement.

The officer saw the driver switch seats into the back seat of the vehicle. The 43-year-old Janesville man showed signs of being impaired, refused standardized field sobriety tests, and was arrested on tentative charges of a seventh OWI, resist/obstruct an officer, possession of THC, felony bail jumping, and a probation hold, Carrasco said.

A search warrant was obtained from a judge to enable blood to be drawn from the man, Carrasco said.

No injuries were reported.
